She shared a couple of cool black-and-white snaps of herself with, you guessed it, a flower. In one pic, she’s holding the flowers like a girl boss while wearing a floral crown in another. Alongside the pics, Cyrus shared a brief, sweet message about the song. She wrote, “One year ago today ‘Flowers’ started making people happy & that makes me happy.” Additionally, Miley signed off with, “Love you. Thank you. XO MC.” By the way, ‘Flowers’ is all about Cyrus doing her own thing, and boy did it empower us women!
The track belts out lines like “I can buy myself flowers” and “I can take myself dancing.” Additionally, the track was the lead single for Miley’s latest album, “Endless Summer Vacation.” The Wrecking Ball hitmaker called her album a love letter to Los Angeles. In an interview with British Vogue last June, Cyrus disclosed that the upbeat song almost took a different direction. “I wrote it in a really different way.” She explained it by stating the original chorus. “I can buy myself flowers, write my name in the sand, but I CAN’T love me better than you can.” Additionally, Miley noted that it sounded like a track from the 50s.
She added, “The saddest song. Like, ‘Sure, I can be my own lover, but you’re so much better.” At last, Cyrus announced that ‘Flowers’ supports the notion – Fake it till you make it! “Which I’m a big fan of,” the singer added.
