Oliver Farnworth Reveals All About His Mysterious Character
Oliver Farnworth is all set to enter Dales as John Sugden. The actor revealed that John has an ‘amazing’ backstory. While John is indeed related to Victoria, much more to him is still being revealed. According to him, his character has a military background, is openly gay, and tends to be quite solitary.
Over time, John has built barriers to keep people at a distance to protect himself. He lives off the grid in his van and doesn’t need anyone or any family. Next week, Victoria and John first meet at the funeral of his mother, Barbara, who had a brief affair with Jack Sugden.
The new star explains that John is entirely unaware of his half-sister until he meets Victoria. According to him, John’s mother had been very upfront with him about their connection, which is why she gave him the Sugden surname. However, she had not maintained contact with Jack.
Also, John has never been interested in finding his step-siblings. Unfortunately for John, when his van breaks down in the village. Now, he is forced to spend time with Victoria. The ITV star shared, “There’s a lot of jeopardy in our initial scenes given that John could up and leave at any point.”
