The Duke Of York Protects His Residence At The Final Hour, Here’s HOW!
Prince Andrew is reportedly set to remain at the Royal Lodge even after King Charles has stopped funding his security. Royal watchers know that King Charles has been personally footing the bill for his disgraced brother’s security ever since he lost police protection in 2022.
A well-placed royal source confirmed that the King had ensured no taxpayer money had been used to cover Andrew’s security costs at Royal Lodge, a practice that would continue until his private security team leaves the property in October.
The source added that the Duke of York has settled for a ‘mobile security team’ as a cost-effective compromise, ensuring the residence remains adequately protected. They also claimed that the only reason the security team has been discontinued is due to costs. An insider further explained, “There was a proposal put forward for when this contract comes to an end in October, but it was too high.”
As a result, the insider said discussions led to the decision to use a mobile security team that will provide round-the-clock protection, regular patrols, and on-call as and when needed. They also claimed, “A new security system will also be fitted inside the property. The costs are much lower, and they will not be covered by the taxpayer.” All of this comes after Andrew refused to vacate the 30-bedroom Windsor property despite being offered the use of nearby Frogmore Cottage.

According to reports, the tension rose when the Duke of York neglected the Royal Lodge’s annual upkeep fee of £500,000, leaving the historic property with crumbling brickwork and severe damp issues. Under his lease agreement, Andrew bears full accountability for maintaining the royal mansion.
The lease clearly articulates that the royal must ‘repair, renew, uphold, clean and, where necessary, rebuild’ the property. We really hope Charles & Andrew can solve this issue soon because no one would be a part of another big royal riot.
