Harry’s Snide Remark Broke His Bond With Kate
Prince Harry seems to have a feud with every member of the Royal Family, including his father, Charles, and brother, Prince William. His once-friendly relationship with Kate might also be irrevocably damaged. The Duke and Princess of Wales shared a close relationship, and Harry even once described her as ‘the sister I never had.’ However, his tell-all memoir, Spare, had a few things that made their relationship worse.
According to sources, it was one specific ‘snide remark’ that the father-of-two made that broke Kate’s trust and fuelled the royal rift between them. In the book and in several interviews to promote it, the estranged royal accused his sister-in-law of ‘stereotyping’ his wife Meghan Markle, saying her behaviour created a barrier and sharing details of an incident that left Markle in tears.
He wrote that Kate asked for an apology from Meghan when she accused her of having ‘baby brain’ following the birth of Prince Louis and that Kate ‘grimaced’ when Meghan borrowed her lip gloss. As per royal expert Katie Nicholl, this led to a complete breakdown of Kate and Harry’s relationship as the future Queen is ‘very disappointed.’
