We are already in the prime of October, and the festive season is closer than ever! Like many others, Prince Harry has also zeroed in on how he wants to celebrate the Christmas season. Reportedly, The Duke of Sussex intends to celebrate Christmas with his maternal family in the UK. However, Meghan Markle is rather wary of the idea.
Daily Express US has reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently not on the same page. Harry wants to celebrate the festival with his maternal family in the UK, while Meghan has not been able to warm up to the idea. Harry’s maternal family, the Spencers, sent out an invitation to the couple to come and join them for the festivities.
“Harry is keen for the Sussexes to spend time in the UK this Christmas with family,” a source close to the couple told the media. However, Meghan is hesitant to accept the invitation. Prince Harry desires to reconnect with his relatives, that’s why he is so keen on celebrating the occasion in the UK.
Interestingly, Harry and Meghan have not been invited to the traditional Royal Family Christmas celebration at Sandringham. It is an event that has always been significant to the British royal family. Perhaps that’s why Harry is so keen on reconnecting with his maternal family who are welcoming him with open arms.
Even during his August visit to the UK. Harry stayed with his maternal uncle – Charles Spencer at Althorp House. The same place where his mother, Princess Diana, grew up. While he did visit his mother’s resting place during the visit, his father and brother did not meet him. Thus, it won’t be surprising at all if the same repeats during Christmas.
