Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Fear King Charles Delayed The Passports!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were worried that their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, couldn’t get U.K. passports due to King Charles III’s opposition to the royal titles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex even thought of changing their family’s last name to Spencer. Prince Harry even talked to his uncle, the Earl, about taking his late mother, Princess Diana’s, surname. However, they dropped the idea after the passports of their children finally arrived. But they got them after six months, while the usual waiting period is three weeks.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said that there was clear reluctance regarding the issue of passports. They had to try hard because the passport applications included the titles HRH – His/Her Royal Highness. The sources say that the King didn’t want the couple’s children to carry the titles. Their British passports should be the only legal proof of their names. However, a representative at Buckingham Palace denied that Charles was responsible for the delay.
Meanwhile, the British passports for the couple’s children with their updated Sussexes surnames were being blocked for over five months. Prince Harry even went to his uncle and said that they were stopping the children from having the same name as his children are legally HRH. Earlier, Spencer advised him not to change the surname.
The Couple Faced Multiple Delays!
Elsewhere, a spokesperson for Prince Harry said that they don’t open up about the private matters of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children. Though the couple faced multiple delays to get their children’s passports, they were finally issued after the couple’s lawyer sent a letter to the U.K.’s Home Office, warning that they would want information regarding the delay.
However, this information could have revealed the details of the delays. Meanwhile, earlier this week, People Magazine shared that Archie and Lilibet have Mountbatten-Windsor mentioned as their last name on their birth certificates.
But the family uses Sussex as their last name, just as Harry was called Harry Wales during his childhood when his parents had the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales. However, Meghan and Harry don’t use the HRH titles as they stepped down from their royal duties in 2020.
But in 2023, the couple shared that their children would use the HRH titles, and the updated website showed that the Princess and Prince were listed right after their father. The Duke of Sussex wants their children to decide if they want to perform the royal duties or not. So, what will Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet do?
