Prince Harry and Meghan are hitting a roadblock in their plans to settle back in the UK. Their search for a new British home has been paused out of nowhere, leaving royal fans wondering what’s going on. Why? Well, it’s not what you would expect. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s plans have been put on hold due to a complication with Harry’s security appeal. Dive in to get the full scoop!
Security Issues Stall the Sussexes’ UK Home Search
Recently, a court decision denied Prince Harry’s request to fast-track his appeal concerning his security detail. The judiciary told him to wait his turn like everyone else. Sadly, this decision has stalled their hopes of finding a permanent residence in the Duke’s home country. Moreover, stepping away from the royal realm did them no good.
After quitting royal life and being evicted from Frogmore Cottage, the Sussexes faced privacy breaches during their recent London visit. These incidents made it difficult for them to have their kids tag along. Following their exit from royal duties, the Sussexes’ security arrangements in the UK were downgraded.
However, the Invictus Games founder has now been granted permission to appeal a June High Court decision. Earlier, the court dismissed his challenge against this downgrade. An insider told the UK Express, “Harry really does want to spend more time in the UK.” They think the Duke feels uncomfortable to visit until the security issues have been ironed out.
The US-based royals have been splitting their time between the UK and the US. They want to avoid the hassle of constantly checking in and out of hotels. Additionally, the couple planned to find a part-time home near Windsor this year, hoping the appeal process would conclude soon. Unfortunately, the court process is moving slowly.
A judge on the Court of Appeals rejected Harry’s attempt to speed up his security case. They emphasise that everyone must follow the same legal process without special privileges. Despite this setback, the Duke is dead set on resolving the issue. Royal experts believe Harry wants to bring his kids back to London to connect with their roots.
However, the unresolved security situation still lingers. Furthermore, the Home Office reduced the taxpayer-funded security provided to him after he stepped away. The High Court dismissed his complaint in February, and his request to appeal to a higher court was denied in April. Thankfully, his legal team managed to secure an appeal in June. So, the fight is far from over!

I do not think that us taxpayers should pay anything towards P.H. & M.M. security, whatever they do they can never be working royals again. They can never be trusted again, they have crossed the line with the R.F. so there is no coming back??
