Prince Harry thought life would be smooth in the States until legal complications started pestering him. It all started with his admission of drug use in his book “Spare.” Then, it was blown up into a big controversy, threatening his US visa situation. Now, the Heritage Foundation wants the authority to question the Duke the next time he leaves the country. Is Harry in hot water?
Prince Harry: Harry’s Visa Application Raises Eyebrows
Prince Harry’s little confession of using drugs attracted the drama he never saw coming. The Heritage Foundation, a conservative group, demanded that he reveal his 2020 visa application. They want to know if the royal answered “no” about past drug use on the form. Well, some of the official documents became public.
However, crucial information remains under wraps. Nile Gardiner from the US think tank believes Harry should go through an interrogation when he returns to the US. “These drugs are illegal in the US. The new US administration is strictly enforcing the rules,” Nile said.
The organization is also curious about why the government won’t release Harry’s visa application details. Meanwhile, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is concerned about citizens’ privacy and security. Jarrod Panter, a freedom of information officer, opposed publicising Harry’s visa status.
According to him, it might lead to “harassment as well as unwanted contact by the media and others.” Hence, the DHS turned down the Heritage Foundation’s request for such information. Interestingly, US President Donald Trump commented on the situation earlier, though he stated he wouldn’t deport Harry.
Trump Slams Harry and Meghan’s Marriage
However, Trump fired brutal shots at Harry’s partner, Meghan Markle, while talking to The New York Post. “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible,” he said. It wasn’t surprising because Meghan and Donald have never been on good terms.
The Duchess has openly criticized Trump, calling him “divisive” and a “misogynist.” In addition, she supported Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016 and even hinted she might leave the US if Trump won. As for the politician, he spoke about whether Harry should be given special treatment if he lied in his visa application.
The Prez told GB News, “No. If he has lied, they’ll have to take appropriate action.” Oops. Stay glued to more exclusive updates on Prince Harry at Soap Opera Daily. Can Prince Harry bypass the security checks in the US?
