Royal author Christopher Andersen has revealed that King Charles considers criticism toward Camilla unforgivable. Hence, Prince Harry’s cutting remarks about her in his memoir have created a deep and lasting rift. As a result, even reconciliation efforts have started failing. Moreover, it’s well-known that there is a significant rift within the royal family. Earlier, reports of reconciliation surfaced, especially after the news of King Charles and Kate Middleton’s cancer battles. But Harry’s bashing didn’t go unnoticed.
The King’s Unforgivable Stand on Camilla’s Criticism
Royal watcher Andersen asserts that criticism of Camilla is a line that King Charles won’t tolerate. So, that definitely puts Prince Harry in a red zone. In his memoir Spare, released on January 10, 2023, the Duke called Camilla “the other woman” and “dangerous.” The remark further strained their relationship and kept the classic rift alive. Moreover, Andersen explained that people need to understand that King Charles finds criticism of Camilla particularly unforgivable.
He thinks Harry has gone a little overboard with his comments against Camilla. He said very harsh things about her, portraying her as the villain in his narrative. This deeply troubled the Reigning Monarch, and Andersen believed the king might never forgive Harry for these remarks. Furthermore, the royal author talked about Harry and Meghan Markle’s attempts to mend fences with the royal family. He stated that their efforts have been unsuccessful.
The situation remained tense and it couldn’t reach a conclusion. It even ended up with Harry on the outs with his family. In “Spare,” the US-based royal wrote about Camilla’s actions after Princess Diana’s death. He suggested that she had a long-term strategy aimed at marriage and eventually becoming queen. Whoa, that’s quite a wild claim! Charles’ younger son also revealed that he had pleaded with his father not to marry Camilla. He referred to her as “the other woman” and “wicked stepmother.”
Unfortunately, these statements have only deepened the divide between Harry and his father. In the meantime, the royal author Robert Hardman has suggested that the Invictus Games founder might write a second memoir. And guess what? Royal commentator Lee Cohen chimed in to support this claim. He described it as a “new stress” for the British royal family amidst the health concerns of Kate and Charles.
In addition, Hardman and Cohen believe that a second memoir could be on the way. It might potentially include details that were omitted from the first one, particularly about the Sussexes’ wedding.
