For some, they are the “local villains.” It’s because of all the negative attention they have brought to their exclusive coastal town, Montecito.
Most of the local residents of the area have a bone to pick with Meghan. It’s because they feel she embodies “new money energy” and they don’t find her and her Royal husband “financially literate.” For them, their entertainment ventures are coming off as “desperate.” This may include Meghan’s upcoming Netflix show, ‘With Love, Meghan’ and her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
After all, the neighbours are having a hard time comprehending why someone would, “turn their back on tiaras in pursuit of Tupperware.” They believe selling pots and pans with the logo of Meghan’s lifestyle brand doesn’t compare with “state visits with world leaders.” Many residents have tagged the duo as, “the prince and the starlet.”

Apparently, they are bringing in a lot of “noise” due to their “celebrity association.”
Montecito once used to be an underrated place and a “hidden jewel.” It is now on a pedestal all because of Harry and Meghan. The residents of the coastal town also say lots of unnecessary crowds have been infiltrating the area to catch a glimpse of the former royal couple. The podcast host has been keeping track of the local newspaper and magazines from Montecito.
Schofield has been doing so to see how much Harry and Meghan have been involved in local charity galas or mentioned for community contributions. They are not. Well, the couple is “friendly” but not “open or engaging.” Hence they “keep to themselves” and are introverts and don’t step up to be there for the local community.
