Things are looking grim for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While everyone else celebrates Christmas by spreading joy and spending time with their families, it looks like Meghan Markle’s recent actions are dampening the celebrations for Prince Harry.
There have been talks about how there is an ongoing rift between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Adding to that, their Christmas celebrations for the year 2024 seem to only add to the issues. What is happening there you ask? Keep reading to know all about it.
A Christmas Worlds Apart
For years, Prince Harry has celebrated Christmas in a rather royal way. With grand Royal gatherings at the Sandringham, exchanging of gifts on Christmas Eve, Church services, lavish traditional lunches and Boxing Day Pheasant shoot filled with many games and surrounded by his whole family. However, now, things have changed for him and it looks like it’s not sitting too well with Prince Charming.
Ever since the Megxit, Meghan Markle and Harry have been celebrating Christmas on their own in California. While they did celebrate the Christmas of 2018 in Sandringham, it was a one-time affair. Post that, the only family member they have entertained is Meghan’s mom Doria.
Now, it looks like this is all feeling a little too little for Harry. In an interview with The Mirror Royal biographer Ingrid Seward, talks about the contrast in these holidays. Prince Harry, for years, has been too fond of the Christmas celebration the royal way. He called it “the golden ticket”. However, Christmas is much different in California.
Since they moved to America, they have picked trees from one of the local stores, their house and yard is decorated with festival lights like any other and their trees are decorated well just like any other wealthy household in Montecito. But is that enough?
Prince Harry Not Too Happy
For all the royal enthusiasts who have been keeping a tab on the updates, you would know, there is a speculation of a possible disengagement between the royal couple. Time and time again, the rumour of them divorcing has made rounds. While Prince Harry has recently publicly debunked this rumour, nobody is ready to believe them.
Both Harry and Meghan have been spotted on several events on their own while everyone expected them to show up together. It just feels like a testament to the issues between them. Now, royal commentators think that this Christmas would only add to their issues.
While Harry and Meghan will be busy making gingerbread in their homes, the other members of the royal family will all come together to Sandringham enjoying it all together.
Many had believed that this year, King Charles might extend an invitation to son and daughter in law. After all, both King Charles and Kate Middleton have had a year nobody thought they’d have. It would have been nice to see the whole family together, however, there was no official invite.
As per the royal watcher, it is of importance to Meghan that Archie and Lilibet have connective memories of Christmas and Thanksgiving. She wants them to put out carrots for the reindeers. But Harry is surely missing Christmas and the festivities back home and that could affect the couple big time.
