Prince Harry traded the royal palace for California sunshine, but his American dream might be on shaky ground. The Duke of Sussex stepped from royal duties in 2020 and moved to LA with his wife and kids. Ever since, the whispers about his US visa status have garnered attention. With Donald Trump back in the political spotlight – and reportedly holding a grudge against the prince – Harry’s immigration status is facing fresh scrutiny. Read on for details!
Will Prince Harry Leave The States?
A lawsuit fighting to make Prince Harry’s private US visa records public has reopened. The Duke’s reference to taking cocaine and marijuana in his book Spare promoted a right-wing US think tank to question how he was allowed to enter the state four years ago. The Heritage Foundation called for the Department for Homeland Security to make his documents public to check if Harry disclosed his past drug use.
All of this also brought into question if the Joe Biden administration gave special treatment to Prince Harry. And now, the first court hearing of President Donald Trump’s inauguration will take place. And the think tank will argue that the government should release the details of Harry’s visa. According to Newsweek, Judge Carl J Nichols has ordered Heritage lawyers and Prince Harry to meet at a federal court in Washington DC on Wednesday, February 05.
Earlier, the right-wing think tank lost the case in September. And it was announced that the documents would remain private. As for Trump, he also made his feelings about the Duke clear in an interview last year. He vowed, “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.” The POTUS also mentioned that appropriate action will be taken if they learn anything about the use of drugs.
