It has been several years since Prince Harry renounced the royal life. However, the ripple effect of the shocking move is still very visible and evident in his life. The Duke of Sussex rang in his 40th birthday on September 15, 2024, away from the glitz of royalty. While, Harry has found contentment in his new Californian life with Meghan Markle and their children, he still misses his former life.
Not too long ago, the prince was living in the lap of British royalty, with his father, King Charles by his side. It is believed that the two shared a really close bond, and Charles was often seen praising his younger son. However, their relationship now stands rather strained, very strained.
The major crack in Prince Harry’s relationship with his father and brother, Prince William, came after the release of his Netflix documentary, and Harry’s memoir. Royal historian Dr. Tessa Dunlop is of the opinion that the prince would be much happier if he still had his father’s support.
“‘Well done, darling boy’ was Charles’s response to Harry’s first Invictus performance,” Tessa fondly recalls. Furthermore, the historian pointed out that the lack of Royal service, and his father’s withdrawn support has left a hole in Harry’s life. “Nowadays, the Prince is a seasoned performer, but I suspect he’d be far happier if his father was still cheering him from the sidelines,” she added.

Adding a happier and hopeful note, Tessa revealed that the king managed to find time to reach out to his son on his 40th birthday. Which of course is a great development. Interestingly, Harry quipped to BBC that he is rather excited about his landmark birthday, while he had been so anxious about his 30th.
It seems that the prince has hopes that the next chapter of his life will bring him much happiness and peace. We wish that’s exactly what happens! So, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more updates on the Royal Family. Meanwhile, what’s your take on Prince Harry and Charles’ relationship?
