It is no secret that Prince William and Kate Middleton deeply care for their family. It has been rather apparent from many of their actions. Additionally, many sources close to the royal family have attested to the same. Now, it has come to the surface that the royal couple had made a huge change in their life in order to be closer to Queen Elizabeth.
Kate Middleton and The Prince previously lived in Kensington Palace, had moved to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor two years ago. And the reason behind the move will fill up your heart. William and Kate moved from London to Windsor and the four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage with their children – George, Charlotte, and Louis.
Robert Jobson explained in his new biography, Catherine, Princess of Wales, that the couple actually moved there for Queen Elizabeth. He explained that William decided to move so he could be closer to his grandmother. He took this decision after the passing of the Queen’s husband – Prince Philip. Kate, too wholeheartedly supported her husband’s decision.
“William knew his time with his grandmother was precious and he is delighted they, as a couple, made that decision,” Robert Jobson pointed. Furthermore, he added that even Catherine understood that as a future King, it was important for William to be geographically closer to his grandmother, The Queen.
Prince William was truly present when the Queen and his father needed him, and it made a huge difference, Jobson asserted. “They were in regular contact, seeing each other in person and speaking on the phone several times a week, bringing them even closer,” he added. The Queen was really struggling after her husband’s loss. But regular phone calls and visits from Prince William kept her going.
