Prince William recently witnessed a “Like Father, Like Son” moment when he discovered his son Prince George’s latest hobby. “He absolutely loves it,” claims William. The Prince of Wales recently visited the Birtley Community Pool in Tyne and Wear, England. During a chat, he revealed that his son is following in his footsteps with a love for “underwater”.
“George loves scuba diving. He’s 11 years old. We took him under thinking he would freak out. He absolutely loves it. It’s just introducing him to the world of water,” Hello reported. Prince William met with swimmers, “Adam Peaty and Tom Dean”, who recently represented Britain at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Paralympians Maisie Summers-Newton and Louise Fiddes were also present at the meeting.
Interstingly, back in 2022, William and Kate had indulged in a scuba diving excursion during a trip to the Caribbean and absolutely loved it. Thus, it is possible that that’s exactly where little Prince George took his inspiration from. They took a dive at South Water Caye to see the Belize Barrier Reef. It is common knowledge that both The Prince and Princess of Wales enjoy swimming. So a love for water is definitely a running theme in the family!
Prince William played water polo for Eton College and the University of St. Andrews. Meanwhile, Kate has previously admitted that cold water swimming happens to be one of her fitness hobbies. “The colder, the better. I absolutely love it,” she was heard saying on a podcast. We wonder if Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis share their parents and elder brother’s water interests!
