Prince William is filling the shoes of a pivotal figure known for steering the monarchy with a firm hand. According to reports, the future King is now adopting a similar approach to the one his grandfather used to, particularly in his interactions with his estranged brother, Prince Harry.
The classic royal rift between the brothers started in 2020 when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their royal responsibilities. The estranged royal couple also made several allegations about the family, further widening the feud.
Even though King Charles wants to forgive and forget everything Harry did, William has kept his stance firm. The heir to the throne has reportedly taken a leaf out of his grandfather’s book when keeping other royals in check. While speaking to the Daily Beast, a source said that William is calling the shots and has taken on the position as family ‘disciplinarian.’
They said, “There is a sense that William has stepped into the Prince Philip role. Philip ruled the family with a rod of iron and you saw when he died that discipline collapsed. Now William is calling the shots when it comes to family discipline.”

According to royal commentator Jennie Bond, “Obviously, as heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family, and I think it’s true that he has been prepared to take a tough stand on a number of issues, including Andrew and Harry.” It seems like William is not ready to burn the bridges anytime soon with his brother while following the steps of his grandfather.
