In another act of showing that they truly care, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton have now revealed that they are working on a mental health initiative. This is an initiative that is really close to their hearts. They have pledged to provide all possible support to rural and farming communities in Norfolk. They are taking a step further to stay true to their word.
Prince William and Kate Middleton Embark On A New Mission
Conquering the mental health landscape further, Prince William and Kate Middleton have announced their new collaboration with Norfolk and Waveney Mind, a local charity working for the same cause. Together, they aim to boost mental health support for the rural and farming communities of the Northwest Norfolk.
In a statement issued by the Kensington Palace, it was revealed that the royal couple is funding this project to aid the people working in the Sandringham Estate of the royal family. Surprisingly, almost of the Northwest Norfolk population lives in that estate. The royals tend to do everything to make mental health resources more accessible to them.
Earlier this year, Prince William had pledged to provide mental health support to farmers on the Duchy of Cornwall Estate. Now, taking a step further, they are building a stronger network of mental health aid. In the statement by Kensington Palace, they highlighted that the farming communities across the UK are in strong need of mental health support. Rural isolation and poor mental health is widespread across the country. At least one farmer loses themselves to this every week.
Sonja Childers Appreciates The Royals
The program is all set to be launched sometime in 2025 and right now is spanned for at least two years. Sonja Childers, the Interim CEO of Norfolk and Waveney Mind says that they are too aware of the specific mental health challenges that these people in rural settings face. Emphasising on the farming community, they believe that they know the land.
Appreciating the Prince and Princess of Wales, the CEO pointed out that they are delighted to work in this partnership. The prince and Princess know the Northwest Norfolk community well and are keen to help. Together through this partnership they will be able to help the whole community and give them better wellbeing.
The CEO confirmed that as a part of the initiative, they are planning to launch a new look talking therapy service. They will also open up free counselling for people who have anxiety and depression making it all the more accessible for people in the rural parts of the estate to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Soap Opera Daily will continue to pass on all the royal updates about this new initiative by the couple. Make sure you come back for more. What do you think about it? Tell us in the comments below.
