Prince William and Kate Middleton delighted the royal fans after they released their never-before-seen wedding portrait, shared to mark their 13th anniversary. And now, it turns out, the stunning black-and-white picture of the couple was hiding in plain sight long before that—in a call with pop sensation Lady Gaga. Read on to learn more!
On April 29, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared an unseen wedding picture taken on the day of their royal wedding in 2011. This beautiful moment was photographed by Millie Pilkington which showed the newlyweds posing close.

On her special day, Kate looked ethereal in her white lace wedding gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. As for the future King, he was in the black uniform of the Blues and Royals. They shared this picture on social media and wrote, “13 years ago today!”
While the intimate image was new to most royal fans, the Prince of Wales had it displayed on his desk years ago. A sneak peek of the portrait was spotted in a frame on William’s desk during a video call with Lady Gaga shared in April 2013 for the Heads Together campaign. The collection of framed pictures included a snap of a dog, a 2013 photo by father-in-law Michael Middleton of William and Kate with Prince George, and a playful picture of Prince Harry posing in glasses.

Royal fans know that mental health is a key of The Royal Foundation, the charity for the Prince and Princess of Wales’ nonprofit work. The duo launched the Heads Together initiative with Prince Harry in 2016 to smash stigmas around help for mental health. During his discussion on the campaign, the singer/songwriter praised the ‘beautiful stories’ of Heads Together short films, which highlighted people talking about their mental health challenges.
In response to this, Prince William also told her that Gaga’s open letter about her PTSD diagnosis was ‘incredibly moving and very brave.’ We love how dedicated the whole royal family is towards mental health challenges.
