The tension between the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex seems beyond repair. William holds a firm grudge against Harry for his public jabs at the royal family.
The Duke’s memoir threw a wrench in any plans for a royal reunion. Royal expert Hilary Fordwich believes William might stay solid in his stance and never welcome his brother back again. Read on to get the full royal scoop!
William Blocks Harry from Grovelling Back
Prince Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” made waves with its commercial success, but closed the doors for any plans for a reunion. In a chat with Fox News Digital, royal expert Hilary Fordwich revealed that Prince William has put his foot down. He would block Harry from coming back to the royal fold in any form.
In his memoir, the Duke painted an unflattering picture of Prince William. He described him as difficult and unaccepting of Meghan Markle. Fordwich claimed, “William is the most unlikely royal ever to forgive Harry for all his despicable indiscretions.” According to him, Will is now “the family enforcer,” embracing the hard-line ruler role of his grandfather, Prince Philip.
Furthermore, Harry hasn’t held back in his criticism of the royal family since the explosive royal exit in 2020. The Invictus Games founder has accused the royal family of racism and rigidity. These bold claims have only deepened the rift within the family. The King might still harbour a desire to reconcile with his son. However, his eldest son remains steadfast in his refusal to engage with Harry.
“If anyone will relent, it would be King Charles III, who still misses his ‘darling boy,'” Fordwich explained. Unsurprisingly, the siblings didn’t cross paths during Harry’s brief visit to the UK in May. Despite everything, William is hell-bent on not speaking to his brother, especially if the Sussexes’ Netflix contract falls through.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield revealed that Harry will likely need to apologize to mend fences with the royals. She hinted that the Sussexes might have to return to their British roots. Additionally, ex-royal staffer Grant Harrold echoed this sentiment. He suggested that a public apology from Harry is the only way forward.
“The only way I see this happening is a public statement from Harry, where he admits his mistakes,” Harrold shared. However, he doubted it would happen.
