Prince William has spoken out about Princess Kate’s health, calling the end of her chemotherapy treatment ‘good news.’ During his first public appearance since Kate’s heartfelt video update, the Prince of Wales visited Llanelli. His day was filled with excitement as he engaged with the Welsh women’s rugby team and visited the Wales Air Ambulance headquarters.

The Prince of Wales attended his first public event since Kate’s personal video about her cancer treatment. The day after Kate announced her chemotherapy was finished, he visited Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. His solo trip celebrated Welsh sport and culture.
It started at Swiss Valley Community Primary School with students from this year’s Urdd Eisteddfod. Talking about his wife’s treatment completion, William stated, It’s good news, but there is still a long way to go.” He was met by a cheering crowd, where people shared their best wishes for the princess after her chemo news.
He even received two heartfelt cards from the crowd. One of the card-givers was 10-year-old Ruby, the Welsh learner whose celebration at a cultural event became a viral sensation earlier this year. The Prince mentioned to Ruby that he had watched her video several times and was impressed by her performance.
Later, Ruby expresses that he was a lovely man and that meeting him was an honour she would cherish forever. They chatted about various topics, and she even hugged him. She also shared that she presented him with a book and bracelets she had made for Kate and Charlotte.
Additionally, former pupil Kate Davies and her mom, Elizabeth Davies, were delighted that the royals visited their village. Elizabeth shared that they greeted the Prince with ‘bore da,’ and he responded in Welsh. The next in-throne was praised for his Welsh pronunciation, receiving a perfect score.
During his visit, he was entertained with a medley of Welsh songs and responded with laughter when a child pointed out a bug on him. He also visited the Wales Air Ambulance headquarters in Llanelli. Along with it, the Prince of Wales met with the Welsh women’s rugby team and gave out caps for the WRU’s ‘missing caps’ campaign to former players.
Abi Tierney, the chief executive of the Welsh Rugby Union, said it was “such an uplifting day” to see the Prince show genuine interest and passion for the players.
