There’s no denying that Meghan Markle is thriving this year, but Princess Kate isn’t staying behind. She’s building a real-life empire with LEGO and IKEA, and it’s likely to be a successful deal. But the same can’t be said about Markle’s podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. So, who’s winning and who’s losing? Let’s find out.
Princess Kate: Catherine Gets BIG Collaborators for Project
Princess Kate has been hustling hard behind the palace gates. What is she up to? The royal is working on The Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood. Sounds fancy? But it’s basically a royal-project bringing big brands together to boost support for little kids and their families.
Launched in 2023, this initiative is gaining serious momentum and with big names like LEGO, IKEA, and Deloitte joining in. LEGO’s been introducing educational playsets into preschool programs while IKEA is opening baby banks across the UK. Moreover, Deloitte has collected funds for over 1,300 teacher training programs for early years education.
Also, they now offer 26 weeks of fully paid parental leave. Sir Ron Kalifa, who leads the taskforce, is is enthusiastic about this mission. ‘These roles aren’t just business functions—they’re incredible platforms for meaningful action,” he explained. According to Kalifa, a business can help shape society for the better, whether it’s a global brand or a corner store.
Is Meghan Losing the Race?
Meanwhile, the initiative’s recent report proves that investing in a kid’s early years doesn’t just help their families. It also sets up entire communities for success and long-term stability. Back to Catherine, her recent health challenges had nothing on her. She has been working behind the scenes like a powerhouse.
Kate is building her legacy block by block but Meghan Markle’s latest projects are wobbling. Her new podcast in partnership with Lemonada Media, was meant to be the holy grail for women entrepreneurs’ journeys. In fact, it was also her chance to highlight her lifestyle brand, As Ever (previosuly named, American Riviera Orchard).
Unfortunately, the Duchess had a tough time bringing in big-name guests she was hoping for. Yep, we didn’t see Taylor Swift, Beyoncé or Michelle Obama. Instead, the mic has gone to lesser-known influencers and startup founders. Furthermoee, critics are also throwing shades over the guest list.
One Hollywood publicist called it a miss, saying, “It lacks the star power needed to elevate it into a must-listen.” It looks like Meghan may need to re-think her strategy.
