The sudden exit of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s chief of staff, Josh Kettler, has come to light after three months on the job. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had hired Kettler, a seasoned public relations expert from Santa Barbara, just before their trip to Nigeria in May.
He was brought on to help guide Prince Harry through his next steps. He even accompanied Prince Harry to London in May, where Harry celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. But on Monday, a former staffer revealed that Kettler is no longer working with them.
Reportedly, Kettler, who calls himself an ‘experienced executive accelerator, organiser, and confidant’ on LinkedIn, was hired on a trial basis, and the Sussexes both agreed it wasn’t the right fit. It all happened just before the couple’s big trip to Colombia, where they planned to visit Bogota, Cartagena, and Cali.
Colombia’s Vice President, Francia Marquez, announced on August 1, 2024, that the Sussexes would meet with youth leaders about their anti-online bullying campaign. According to a source, it was quite revealing that, during their time there, they didn’t recall hearing any current or former employees express a desire to take the job again if given the opportunity.
The source emphasised that these employees were not just random hires; many had previously excelled in demanding roles at high-performance companies and environments.
