Ofcom Seeks Answers From X Over AI Concerns

According to reports, Grok created images of the Princess of Wales wearing a bikini. Those pictures were artificially created by using existing photographs. Moreover, Kate is one of the women who’s affected by these altered visuals. Thousands of images are being circulated online. And they have been flagged as they have placed women in sexualised settings without their permission.

After receiving backlash, Ofcom said that it had urgently contacted both X and xAI. The regulator asked what steps the companies have taken to ensure users are safe in the UK. However, the officials haven’t launched a full investigation. Despite this, they are doing a rapid assessment. They want to know whether X has fulfilled its legal responsibilities. Elsewhere,  such online harm is a major concern.

Elsewhere, the company stated they are working on it to avoid anything similar in future. Even the IWF confirmed that it received many public reports about harmful imagery generated by Grok. The organisation has also asked the Government to introduce tougher rules.
