Meghan And Harry Take A Stand On AI Safety
The Future of Life Institute have published an open letter, and it’s a non-profit organisation. The organisation reduces risk from technologies in today’s time. They want a ban on AI systems which could surpass even human intelligence. Only if there is scientific agreement that these systems are safe to use, permission should be given.
Elsewhere, Harry and Meghan have also taken part in this, with more than 800 signatories. It also included AI pioneer Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio. Also, actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Stephen Fry have signed. Mary Robinson, the former Irish president and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak have also joined this.

Prince Harry also said that he wants AI to serve humanity. But he does not want it to replace it. He wrote, “AI should work for people, not replace them. Progress is about using it wisely, not moving fast.” There is no second chance.” Both Harry and Meghan want technology to be developed responsibly. They also want people to think about its long-term consequences before doing so.
Royal News: The Sussexes Focus On Protecting Children And Families.
Meghan and Harry are interested in AI safety because of their children. They have Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, and worry about how the digital world is changing. Recently, even the Achwell Foundation and non-profit Parents Together collaborated. They want to focus on protecting children from the dangers of artificial intelligence.
In 2024, Meghan spoke to CBS News’ Sunday Morning about how hard it can be to raise a child in a world of technology. She said, “Our kids are young. They’re amazing. However, your primary goal as parents is to shield your children. Thus, from the signs of the problematic situation regarding the internet, it is apparent that there still exists a sizable area for improvement, and we are just grateful to be able to contribute to the positive change.”

After the couple stepped down from their royal duties, they have campaigned on several issues like mental health and climate change. Also, many experts who have signed the letter have given warnings about how, if AI is not controlled, it could lead to various disruptions. Elsewhere, this letter is public, so the government and technology companies will now have to reconsider the regulatory frameworks. For more Royal News and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
