Royal News: A man managed to breach Kensington Palace security twice before Christmas. The incidents have raised new concerns around the protection of senior royals. And the way these breaches were handled is also being questioned. Keep scrolling to learn more.
An Intruder Had Breached The Palace
The intruder, Derek Egan, had climbed the perimeter fence on December 21. Additionally, on December 23, he returned. However, he was stopped by the Met Police Royal and Specialist Protection Command officers. He was caught inside the palace gardens carrying a heavy rucksack.
He did so after being given bail. And people who are aware of the royal protection are questioning how such a decision was made. It’s because many staff members love and work inside the palace. A former head of the same protection unit, Dai Davis, also spoke about it. He said that police can never assume it is a routine day when they are guarding senior members of the Royal Family.

Furthermore, Davis also questioned why bail was granted to the man when the person returned only two days later. He says these incidents needed to be investigated carefully. It’s because many people are connected to the property. The court described Egan’s behaviour as erratic. Moreover, his outfit drew attention. And he even shouted insults and damaged the defendant’s bench. Elsewhere, he even refused to leave the transport van earlier. And so he was put in custody.
During the first charge, he had pleaded guilty. However, during the second one, he was already on conditional bail. Elsewhere, District Judge Sam Goozee said that the next hearing will take place in his absence and refused bail. To avoid any other similar attempt, security measures have been strengthened.
Royal News: Where Kate And William Were During The Breaches
Kensington Palace is the official London residence of Kate and William. However, the family mainly lives in Windsor with their children. According to reports, they were not inside the palace during the breach. The couple had been in London to complete holiday preparations. And they later travelled to Sandringham.

Elsewhere in December, Prince William and Prince George were seen at The Passage homeless centre. They served food to people in need. And that had received positive attention. However, after the breaches, it is essential to focus closely on the movements of senior royals. For more Royal News and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
