Shona McGarty, who acted in EastEnders for many years, made an appearance in Brit Awards. She joked that her character Whitney would win a prize for an emotional rollercoaster ballad. Furthermore, Shona added that if EastEnders had its Brit Awards, Pat Butcher would win music icon and Kat Slapper would get slapper of the year.
The actor’s fans know that she left EastEnders in 2024 to pursue singing. Meanwhile, last year she also made an appearance on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here. She said that singing is what she wants to do, while music is where she wants to go. Shona added that she has been in the studio all the time doing music and writing. She revealed that she has been trying to experiment with different genres.
She added that she loves everything and can’t decide because she loves everything. Elsewhere, when BBC reporter Alix Hattenstone asked Shona McGarty if she had any recommendations for anyone visiting her home village, which is a short drive from Welwyn Garden City.

The star answered that she is from Hertfordshire in the countryside. Though it sounds posh, some parts are real. Shona added that old Welwyn has a post office, one dentist and one shop. She said that it is a bit like Emmerdale and she loves it. Shona also said that she would recommend the restaurant there. Shona said that it is a very nice family business.
Meanwhile, Alison, who is one of the restaurant’s owners, said that Shona had been visiting since it opened in 2023. She has also sung at various events. Alison said that Shona sings and acts well.
