The final episode of Dancing With The Stars Australia 2025 had fans on the edge of their seats. The competition had been tough all season, but one familiar face from Home and Away delivered a finale performance that left everyone speechless.

   

Kyle’s Journey From Summer Bay to the Dance Floor

Kyle Shilling, known for playing Mali on Home and Away, joined the dance reality show earlier this year. He had already made history on the soap as its first Indigenous cast member, and now he brought that same pride and passion to the stage. Week after week, Kyle danced with his partner, Lily Cornish, and wowed the judges.

They stood out in a lineup filled with big names like Shaun Micallef, Ash-Leigh Hunter, Trent Cotchin, Jessica Jess Raffa, Felicity Ward, Aric Yegudkin, Brittany Hockley, Craig Monley, Michael Usher, and Natalie Lowe. As the season went on, Kyle and Lily kept improving. 

Home and Away: A Cultural Finale That Stunned the Judges

In the finale, Kyle and Lily gave it their all. They danced to Mo’ju’s Native Tongue and blended movement with meaning. Kyle also played the didgeridoo, a traditional Indigenous wind instrument, live on stage. Their dance earned them a perfect score of 40 from the judges. Helen Richey called it one of the best performances she had ever seen.

On social media, people called the routine “extraordinarily spiritual” and praised Kyle’s ability to tell such a moving story through dance. At the end of the night, Kyle and Lily were announced as the winners of Dancing With The Stars Australia 2025. They took home the Mirror Ball trophy, and a cash prize of USD 20,000.

Kyle Shares What the Win Means to Him

After his big win, Kyle spoke to Yahoo Lifestyle. He said he felt “over the moon” and extremely proud. He shared that he had already been the first Indigenous lead on Home and Away, and now being the first Indigenous winner of Dancing With The Stars Australia meant a lot to him.

Kyle added that being able to share his culture on such a big platform made the experience even more special. Kyle said that even when they perform their culture in small communities, it feels important. So doing it on national TV and winning was something he would always hold close.

He mentioned that he would look back at this moment for years to come. He said the performance and the win meant a great deal to him and to his culture. For Home and Away fans, Kyle has once again made them proud. He took on a new challenge and gave it everything he had, just like he does on screen.
