In Conversation With Soap Icon Alley Mills
During an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Mills first dives into her GH storyline. The Bold and the Beautiful star’s character, Heather Webber, is in a tough spot right now. However, her situation might turn around for good, all thanks to Scotty’s (Kin Shriner) influence. His pitch about a potential legal loophole involving cobalt poisoning has Heather re-considering her options.
Alley believes this could be her character’s ticket out of prison. Moreover, she shared, “Heather’s suddenly filled with hope, even though she had given up before.” This sudden shift in her attitude also stems from Trina’s anger and Laura’s decision not to take a retrial. The B&B star explained Heather’s thought process, “If there’s a chance to escape, I’ve got to grab it!”
Now, onto the fun part—what did Mills share about working with Genie Francis? The soap legend literally lit up when discussing Francis, who portrays Laura Collins on GH. Mills gushed, saying she loves working with her. She adds, “We have this fantastic ‘girlfriend chemistry’ on-screen, even though Heather and Laura aren’t exactly best buds.”
Furthermore, Mills admired Francis’s old-school approach to acting, explaining how she meticulously prepares for each scene. It also reminds Mills of Susan Flannery, who was popular for her intense preparation for B&B. Alley recalled, “Susan was all about rehearsing scenes multiple times before shooting,”
On the other hand, the B&B star described working with Kin Shriner as a wild and surprising experience. “Kin is such a riot! Our scenes together are like a free-for-all—anything can happen,” Mills laughed. In addition, she commended Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), noting how pleasant it is to work with her. Alley adds, “Rebecca is an amazing person, so kind and genuine.”
She revealed that their scenes are fun, and she manages to crack Herbst up during takes. It’s clear that Mills is having a blast, and her zeal is contagious!
