The Bold and the Beautiful fans are throwing their two cents on how they feel about Rebecca Budig as Taylor Hayes. The seasoned actress took over the role in August 2024 and brought fresh energy to the character we deeply adore. But according to fans? Well, the response has been less than enthusiastic.Over on Reddit, an intense discussion erupted about Budig’s portrayal of Taylor. Read on to get the full scoop!
The Bold and the Beautiful: Is Rebecca Budig’s Version Falling Flat?
The Bold and the Beautiful fans are not impressed with Taylor’s latest version. The Reddit post asked, “Is it just me, or does this Taylor have no chemistry with anyone?” It quickly gained traction, and fans didn’t hold back their opinions. The original poster acknowledged Budig’s acting prowess in shows like AMC and GH.
However, they couldn’t help but slam her robotic approach and lack of chemistry with other cast members. These include Ridge, Steffy, and Brooke, her rival. “It’s so painful watching her attempt to play Taylor,” they added. Ouch. So, what’s the deal? Is Rebecca the problem, or is Taylor just being written into a corner?
On the show, Taylor has become more of an option for Ridge Forrester after Brooke Logan let him down. Recently, Taylor and Ridge spent Valentine’s Day while Brook sulked alone. However, fans aren’t feeling it. In fact, they’re downright cringing. One fan declared, “I love RB, but this Taylor isn’t it. She’s one of the worst recasts I can remember.“
What’s Next For Rebecca’s Taylor?
Another even highlighted Taylor’s bad fashion choices, like her repetitive beige outfits and 6-inch heels to pretend she’s taller. Meanwhile, another fan chimed in, “This Taylor is awful. She has zero chemistry with Ridge and she’s just so boring!“ And guess what? Some fans are even calling her entire arc an embarrassment.
Given the backlash, we wonder if Taylor’s latest return will run its course. One fan said, “I think one day Taylor will just disappear again – like they did with the previous Taylor.“ However, others argue that the problem isn’t just the character but the entire B&B writing team. “It isn’t her. It’s the ENTIRE soap,“ they wrote, explaining that poorly written scripts do a huge disservice to the actors.
So, what’s the verdict? The naysayers win for now. Here’s hoping the CBS soap doesn’t write Rebecca off, at least not before she proves her mettle. Until then, keep coming back to Soap Opera Daily for more updates on The Bold and the Beautiful celebs. Is Budig’s Taylor really that bad, or does she need better writing? Let us know your take.
I have never been a Taylor fan and this new recast just cemented it for me. However, I truly believe RB is a wonderful actress, she is just not Taylor.
Taylor is a useless character. Always has been. She needs to leave for good but this recast is horrible. She’s not a good Taylor at all. She has zero chemistry with Eidge. Their scenes are cringeworthy. This was a miss. I’m not sure what they were thinking but it isn’t working. Just get rid of Taylor permanently finally and put us out of our misery
I wish they would just write Taylor out of the show. But i like this one better than Krista Allen. She was nit good at all for the Taylor character. And B&B needs to write better scripts. Its getting awful.
I agree this choice was the wrong one for being Taylor… she’s the mother of a big fashion house executive, and look at her clothes, hair, make-up? It’s just not the type of woman Ridge would be taken to. Her personality is also lacking largely as she’s a psychiatrist … educated and has lived a very comfortable lifestyle and should reflect that … I like how comfortable she is in her relationship with Ridge, but she also looks too young to be Steffy’s Mom… we need a sophisticated Taylor who not only looks but acts more like the woman / character they made her from the start … 🙂
No Taylor at all is the best amswer
She and Steffy look more like sisters than mother & daughter. Totally a wrong casting all around.
I think all of the above answers about Taylor is correct. She’s not the correct actress for this character, she appears to look more like a sister to Steffi, no charisma or it factor, no magic with any of the other artist, no reason for being there, other than to cause problems for Brooke and Ridge. It’s not just that the writing is bad, which it is, because most of it is unbelievable, it’s we don’t like Taylor and see no need for her to be there, In essence, she needs to be gone.
I agree! I think RB was great in her other roles but to me she does not realistically present a true Taylor persona. She could be an older sister to Stephie but not her mother!
