In fact, in an episode, Finn recalled that while he was in college, Poppy dropped out of their lives suddenly.

Think about it. Li is not an evil character. If she disdains Poppy, there has to be a reason. And a personal one at that! What if, back in the day, Li caught Poppy having an affair with her husband – Jack Finnegan! The man surely has a history of cheating. In fact, this affair with her sister could be the reason why she separated from her husband!
