Actor Ryan Bown recently made a smashing debut on the soap Home and Away. However, a little birdie told us that his debut was supposed to be much soapier than it actually ended up being. There was a sizzling towel drop scene that would have made him bare his all. However, the scene was later scrapped from the soap. The soap announced in January that two new characters were being introduced into the narrative, namely, Sonny and Lacey.
Ryan Bown plays the character Sonny on Home and Away. However, his debut episode has currently only aired in Australia. In the episode, Sonny gets out of the shower and is confronted by Kirby Aramoana. So viewers got quite an eyeful with his top less debut. During an appearance on The Morning Show, Ryan revealed that the scene was originally meant to go beyond him being topless. The actor revealed that the scene was initially written to include a towel drop moment.
The Truth Behind The Scrapped Scene On Home And Away
“The camera would be behind with my legs below and the towel would drop, but the director was like – You know what, too many towel drops, no more towel drops.” Furthermore, Ryan explained his character on the soap as cheeky, Fun-loving, and charming. He elaborated that Sonny often is up to some mischief, but his heart is always in the right place. “He has a really good heart,” he asserted. Since the soap is ahead in Australia, the UK viewers will have to wait all the way till April to see Ryan debut as Sonny.
As we mentioned earlier, Ryan is not the only new addition to the cast. Actress Sophea Pennington is also joining him at Summer Bay. She will be portraying the character Lacey, and she described her as a wild child. “Lacey comes on with the River Boys. So she’s a bit of a wild child, very fun, but she does have a good heart.” Sophea also teased that Lacey will have a thing with Theo right after her debut.
