In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the Young and the Restless actress opened up about adjusting to motherhood. Grimes also touched upon how she and her partner decided on the name Bridger. Well, she couldn’t pinpoint exactly when the name first came to her. However, the star recalled jotting it down on a list on her phone.
Moreover, Camryn herself grew up with a name that stood out. So, she wanted her son to have something unique as well, and Powell was fully on board with the idea. When the CBS soap diva looked into the meaning behind the name, she came across Bridger. It was linked to Bridger, Montana, named after a famous adventurer and pioneer.
Additionally, Grimes’ father hails from Montana, which made her feel the name carried the right energy for her little boy. “That’s the kind of energy I want for my kid,” she explained, adding that they both quickly agreed it was perfect. However, not everyone on social media agreed, and Camryn faced some harsh comments online. Some people even called the name “ugly” and “stupid.”
Despite generally avoiding online negativity, Grimes felt compelled to address the online hate on X/ Twitter. Furthermore, Grimes switched her protective mama mode on and clapped back at the critics. She said it takes a real jerk to comment like that about a baby. Camryn’s fans appreciated her for standing her ground and showing her protective instincts as a new mom.
