Brace yourselves, Y&R fans, because it’s time for a serious trip down memory lane! The Young and the Restless Comings and Goings is set to bring back a character we thought was long gone. This character was first introduced in 1983, and they had last set foot in Genoa City over thirty years ago. So, who could it be? Read on to know all about it!
Y&R Welcomes Veteran Star for Nostalgic Twist
The Young and the Restless Comings and Goings welcomes Amy Lewis, who is making a surprising return, per Deadline. Stephanie E. Williams originally played the character when Amy first appeared in Genoa City. Now, the role will be taken over by the talented Valarie Pettiford. The news had fans buzzing, and they wondered how this would impact the current storyline.
For those who might not remember, Amy departed the show way back in 1988. She left town to care for her father, and it felt like one of those permanent goodbyes. Everybody assumed the character had moved on for good. However, Amy is set to make a comeback after more than three decades! Back in the day, she worked as Paul and Andy’s secretary at their private investigator agency.
Interestingly, her departure was important because it led to Paul hiring Lynne, who became an iconic part of his team. However, Amy’s role wasn’t just confined to the office; she was friends with many young people in town. Moreover, she hung out with big names like Danny, Lauren, and Traci. Let’s not forget those fun moments when she joined Danny on stage during his music tours!
As for Amy’s personal life, it had its share of drama, too. She once dated Nathan, Nate’s father, and their relationship wasn’t just a romantic fling. When Amy discovered Nathan was illiterate, she helped him learn to read and write. Additionally, this act of goodwill made their connection even deeper. Sadly, most of the characters she was closest to have either moved away or moved on.
However, encountering someone like Danny or Christine might bring her back to town. Amy might return to relive old memories, or maybe there’s something more at play. Valerie, stepping into Amy’s shoes, is no stranger to daytime drama either. She played Detective Courtney Walker on Another World and Dr. Sheila Price on One Life to Live.
Lately, she’s been exuding dominance on The Family Business. Keep reading Soap Opera Daily for more The Young and the Restless celeb updates! Hold your horses as Genoa City’s about to get a dose of nostalgia!
