When a show has been on air for as long as The Young and The Restless, it is bound to rehash some storyline. We get it, and we accept it. Sometimes, more often than we should. But what can we say, we do love the soap! However, we don’t know how to feel about Y&R rehashing a whole character’s arc for another one!
That too from the same clan. That too when the OG still exists (and hasn’t changed in the slightest.) Over the years we have seen many parallels between Kyle Abbott and Billy Abbott. Even their feud when they both were working alongside was a clear indication of how alike they are! Their constant attempts to best each other were like mirror images!
However, Kyle’s latest stunt of ditching Jabot for Victor’s Glissade is a stunning recollection of how Billy had left Jabot to prove that he is better and he could do much better than Jabot. Honestly, we are still waiting to see him do better. But something tells us that we’d be waiting forever because Billy is still his older self: arrogant, impulsive, and volatile.
Kyle too, has been borrowing pages from Billy’s playbook these days. He is acting like a total brat to Jack and Diane. In fact, he is on the verge of taking it to the next level. He is knowingly joining forces with Victor to destroy his own family’s professional legacy. Victor’s feud and his true nature are no secret to anyone.

So, it truly does come across as a vengeful act on Kyle’s part to join the enemy’s side. We cannot see this ending well for Kyle at all. Hopefully, once he has his fingers burnt he’ll probably learn a lesson and maybe act more responsible. So, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more The Young and The Restless spoilers on what happens with Kyle next. Meanwhile, did you also notice the similarities in Kyle and Billy’s arcs? Tell us in the comments.
Love Billy Abbott ❤️
Y & R has mold all over it. I stopped watching after 20 years or more. It goes over and over without a ending to any story line. I really don’t miss it at all.
