The Young and the Restless Comings and Goings might bring a beloved character back! The death of Heather Steven has deeply moved all of us. In Genoa City, the ripple effects are massive, with Daniel, Lucy, and Phyllis still trying to move on. However, nobody will feel the loss as deeply as Heather’s dad and ex-police Chief, Paul Williams. For now, he stays in Portugal, but will this blow bring him back to Genoa City?
Y&R’s Paul Returns
The Young and the Restless Comings and Goings introduced a possibility after Heather drew her last breath. First off, what was the aftermath? Sheer Panic! Nevertheless, somebody had to break the news to Paul, but Daniel was still dreading the call. The man was at a loss for words to explain that Heather’s body had been found in the river.
Eventually, Daniel braced himself and rang his ex-father-in-law, who had been MIA for quite some time. Moreover, he revealed everything with a quivering voice, telling Paul how he and Lucy were struggling to process the loss. Can you imagine the weight of those words? But here’s the kicker- mourning Daniel asked Paul to return to Genoa City to be with them.
Nobody saw this coming, especially since Paul disappeared from our screens and even missed some major events. Christine jetted off to Portugal to see him but returned to announce their divorce. The Y&R fans were taken aback and thought Paul’s time in Genoa City had truly come to an end. However, this might not be true because Daniel reacts as if Paul has agreed to return.
As their conversation ended, he thanked Paul and asked to stay in touch. It looks like the former Police Chief’s comeback to Genoa City is just around the corner. Will his return set the stage for some serious drama? But hey, let’s not jump the guns and get excited because we might not actually see him onscreen. Why?
Doug Davidson, who played Paul for ages, hasn’t hinted at his Y&R return. In fact, his responses to fans suggest otherwise. So, what does this mean for the plot? The whole situation can turn out in two different ways. Maybe Paul changes his mind and doesn’t plan to head back. Or even if he does return, we’ll only hear about his visit through the other characters.

I agree Helen! The way they treated him at the end I definitely would say HELL NO. The length of time he was on that show they did him dirty. That was like a slap in the face for all those years! And to have him do this favor for them….NO WAY!

When Daytime disappoints the fans they need to think about that. For years we have lost our favorites for reasons we never knew. Production forgets that they are invited by choice into our homes everyday, and when we lose the familiarity of the program by taking out a significant part of a storyline , or an actor being replaced that we know nothing about it is frustrating and disappointing. When Paul left after all the years of knowing him it took me a while to move on. Now, I hate to watch and get involved because they drop our characters like flys.I have just about given up especially when I see the actors on the other networks who have kept their same roles for years. Now, on FB there are regular clips suggesting that Y&R is dropping major actors from their cast. I hate that. I sure hope they keep J Eddie Peck because he did a fantastic job playing Cole Howard who was my favorite. That was one of the best storylines they had on daytime. He and Victoria were amazing in their performances. When J Eddie left Y&R I never got over him leaving. Now, he is back and I hope that Paul returns again for some of the same reasons.
I would like to see Paul return the Y&R. He was an integral part of the show for many years.
Please bring Paul Williams back! He was always one of my favorites on the show!! Pair him with someone other than Christine, she’s was too boring! He needs someone exciting🙂
