The Newman patriarch got his eye on the prize, but Nick? The man is just marching to his own beat, and it’s causing quite the drama! Take a plunge to learn what the deal is with Nick and Victor’s clashing styles.
Can He Ever Be the Next Victor Newman?
The Young and the Restless star Joshua Morrow, who portrays Nick, spilled the beans to Soaps.com. He highlighted that his onscreen dad is all about strong demands and firm ideas on what his kids should be doing. Victor isn’t considerate of their personal dreams. On the other hand, Joshua states that “Nick is the opposite.”
Moreover, the soap actor believes that Victor is the all-business type. He joked, “Nick is the guy clocking out at 5 p.m. as he “undoes the tie” and heads out the door.” Meanwhile, Nick’s chill and laid-back attitude isn’t about being lazy—he just has a different role at Newman Enterprises. Joshua plays the “peacekeeper” in the family, and wants to protect his sister.
Morrow explains that Nick aims to keep peace in the Newman clan. Victor’s son is all about looking out for his sister, keeping harmony between his siblings, and ensuring his mom’s okay. Additionally, the man always tries to keep Victor from flying off the handle. The soap actor points out that Nick never picks sides because he genuinely wants everyone to get along.
It’s definitely not the Victor way! Interestingly, Morrow is happy that Nick is never going to be “an aspiring, demanding, domineering businessman.” He loves that Nick is “not the grown-up in the room.” Instead, he’s more the guy who swoops in to clean up everyone else’s mess. Furthermore, according to Joshua, Nick’s not a corporate shark, but he’s fiercely loyal to his family and pals.
The actor didn’t deny that his character’s impulsive choices sometimes land him in hot water. But he’s always got the best intentions at heart. Conventionally, Nick’s unique approach might not make him the next CEO at Newman Enterprises. However, Morrow is all for it- he feels that the show’s writers have seamlessly blended Nick’s character with his personality.
Morrow proudly admits. “I really don’t feel like I’m acting.” We reckon that’s the beauty of it. Nick’s authenticity and heart make him a standout character, even if he’s not following in his father’s footsteps.
