Cassie and Daniel’s story on The Young and The Restless ended in such a heartbreak that the ache of it can still be felt. Currently, the horrors of it have started to haunt Sharon all over again on the CBS soap. Partly because losing a child is not a pain you ever forget, partly because she has fallen off her bipolar medication and is having hallucinations.
Long-time viewers will remember that in the early 2000’s when a young Daniel and a 14-year-old Cassie first crossed paths, she developed a crush on him. However, he was not very reciprocating of it. One day, she followed him to a part where she found him drunk and passed out in a car. She tried to drive him home, but unfortunately, ended up crashing the car.

The accident resulted in her losing her life to the injuries she sustained. In a recent The Young and The Restless episode, Sharon and Daniel spoke about the incident, and he admitted how he still feels haunted by it. Some Y&R spoilers tease that Sharon and Daniel recapping the incident is actually a foreshadowing of a disaster that is to follow.
Currently, on the CBS soap, Daniel’s daughter, Lucy, is completely obsessed with Sharon’s daughter Faith. Faith too is older than Lucy, just like Daniel was to Cassie. She too, is not very receptive to Lucy’s actions, just like Daniel was not. The Young and Restless Summer sweeps previewed that Sharon’s storyline will collide with Lucy and her family.
We wonder if Lucy also will end up facing a dangerous situation while trying to impress or help Faith like Cassie did while trying to drive Daniel home. There have also been some indications of an impending car accident in the upcoming episodes of the soap. Could that accident involve Lucy and Faith? Y&R is certainly drawing a lot of parallels between the two storylines!
