The Young and the Restless legend Joshua Morrow recently hit a major milestone! The terrific actor of the soap world celebrated his 30th anniversary as Nick on the CBS soap. To commemorate this occasion, Y&R aired a special episode on June 21 that revisited the character’s intense journey in Genoa City. Despite not being very active on social media, Joshua made a rare post on X/Twitter to mark the special event. Check it out below!
Joshua Morrow Thanks Loyal Y&R Fans
Morrow wrote, “I just wanted to throw a big thanks for the outpouring of support and love from my 30th!” Reflecting on his The Young and the Restless odyssey, Joshua called it “a magical ride.” Moreover, he thanked his fans again, saying his appreciation for them was massive. The actor added, “Thanks for sticking with me and your boy, Nick. I love playing him, and it’s been an incredible honor!”
Do you know that Morrow’s character, Nick Newman, was a victim of classic SORAS syndrome? Yep, Nick was originally portrayed by twins and child actors. Next, the character rapidly aged in 1994 when he returned from boarding school as a teenager- BOOM! That’s when and how the Y&R alum stepped into the role of Victor and Nikki’s son. Over his three decades on the America soap, Joshua has garnered five Daytime Emmy Award nominations.
Interestingly, the journeyed actor initially auditioned for a role on Y&R’s sister soap, The Bold & the Beautiful. However, he didn’t land the role of Dylan (which went to Dylan Neal). Still, this twist of fate led him to audition for Nick on our beloved soap, and the rest is history! It almost seems unthinkable to imagine Genoa City without Nicholas Newman, and luckily, we don’t have to! In other exciting news, Morrow’s son, Crew Morrow, is gearing up to join the world of daytime television.
Crew will portray the role of Will Spencer on The Bold & the Beautiful. Will is the son of Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). Will Spencer last appeared onscreen in January 2020, portrayed as approximately ten years old. Furthermore, Crew shot his first scenes on Friday, June 14, and his debut is slated for Thursday, August 1. This marks Crew’s very first acting gig. Will Spencer was previously played by Zane Achor from 2013 to 2018 and then by Finnegan George until 2020.
His return will undoubtedly flare up the drama amidst new family dynamics involving Luna! Anyway, let’s take a moment to congratulate Joshua Morrow on three incredible decades in daytime television.
