In modern times, Michael Baldwin and Lauren Fenmore indeed are Soap Opera Couple goals on The Young And The Restless. However, those who have been following the soap for several decades know where and how both the characters started. Michael was a convicted felon and a labeled sexual harasser. Meanwhile, Lauren was your quintessential mean girl.

Honestly, in the beginning, no one could have thought that the two of them together could create a life that others could use as a benchmark. But here we are, many years later, admiring the beautiful relationship Michael and Lauren have created. Interestingly, we are not the only ones admiring it, Y&R star Bryton James shares the exact same sentiment.

In a recent chat with Soaps.com, Bryton admitted that when he thinks about his character Devon’s relationship with Abby, he wants it to be exactly like Michael and Lauren’s. “I’d love for them to eventually become the Michael and Lauren of the show,” The Young and The Restless star gushed.

Bryton thinks that not only have Michael and Lauren been together for ages, but they represent true and lasting love. Of course, Devon and Abby haven’t been together for even half as long as the older couple, but they surely do have many years ahead of them to rake up that number. Besides, the two work quite well together, and seem to have Cupid on their side.

So, as long as, Abby’s dramatic families, The Abbotts and The Newmans, don’t meddle in their marriage, and they steer clear of third parties, we think they do have what it takes to be the next Michael and Lauren!
