According to The Young and the Restless spoilers, the drama starts innocently during a sweet family outing. On the January 7 episode, Mariah and Tessa are chilling in the park with baby Aria, enjoying a rare peaceful moment. Guess who enters? It’s none other than Ian, who’s playing a good guy card.
Subsequently, he catches Tessa off guard with his smooth-talking, but Mariah is having none of it. She explodes on the ex-cult leader, warning him to stay away from her family. Tessa’s reaction? She can’t understand where all this anger is coming from. For her, Ian was just the guy who helped her with a puffer on New Year’s Eve.
Moreover, she feels grateful to him, probably because she has never seen his unhinged side like Mariah. The tension only grows as Ian asks Tessa about her health and gets a “Thank you“ in reply. It’s like he’s subtly yet creepily prying into their lives while flashing a smile.

Can Mariah and Tessa Stay Strong?
Tessa wants to see the good in people because somebody did the same to her. While Tessa is all about second chances, Mariah’s instincts are screaming red flags! Unfortunately, Tessa might be giving Ian the benefit of the doubt. Consequently, his deceiving charm could draw Tessa in further, burning the bridge between her and Mariah.
There may come a point when they can’t see eye-to-eye on how to handle him. Even if Ian gets kicked out of Genoa City in some over-the-top soap style, the damage may already be done. Mariah’s lingering frustration over Tessa not trusting her instincts could shoot up.
