Since Taylor Swift dropped her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, fans have been trying to decode the weirdly cryptic yet romantic lyrics. While hate lyrics are believed to be for her exes, the sweet, romantic ones are mainly supposed to be for her current boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Surprisingly, the Kansas City Chiefs Travis himself cheekily confirmed he was a muse in one of Swift’s songs, “So High School.”
Well, the track is a surprise track, which is all about sweet romance. In that song, Swift sings, “You know how to ball/ Do that impression you did of your dad again.” These particular lines and many football references made Swifties believe that the song was particularly meant for Travis Kelce.
That’s because, in Kelce’s podcast, he and his older brother Jason Kelce enacted their dad, Ed Kelce. In the video post, Travis tweeted, “Those Papa Kelce impressions are just too good.” Thus, fans are convinced that “So High School” is about Travis Kelce. But this isn’t the only song in which Taylor Swift found Travis as her muse.
Recently, sports analyst Pat McAfree pointed out that Swift’s song “The Alchemy” has many references that suggest it is meant only for Kelce. Again, “The Alchemy” also had several football references in the lyrics, like “Beer sticking to the floor, cheers chanted cause they said/ There was no chance/ Trying to be the greatest in the league/ Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me.”
This indicates the couple’s blossoming relationship and how well everything is going between them. Further, these lyrics hint at the Super Bowl moment when the Kansas City Chiefs won the game. While both of Swift’s songs are beautifully crafted and hint at their romantic journey, another song, “The Albatross, ” captured Swiftie’s attention.
“Cross your thoughtless heart/ She is here to destroy you/ She’s the death you chose/ You’re in terrible danger,” the lines hint at a dangerous situation. However, it reveals that Taylor Swift is trying to warn Travis Kelce that she is the troublemaker and the bad seed. So, he needs to distance himself from her if he wants to live.
While these lyrics made everyone doubt why Taylor called herself a bad seed, the song was later turned to be based on haters’ comments. As soon as Kelce started dating Swift, many of his fans began warning him. They even told him to stay away from Swift if he didn’t want to end his career.
Despite the warning, Travis Kelce decided to stay with Taylor Swift, who are now enjoying their time together. In one of the videos, Kelce even kissed Swift while preparing a meal together. Isn’t it lovely?
