Fans who tune in to Beyond the Gates this week might be surprised to see familiar faces from earlier storylines instead of fresh drama. For the first week of September, CBS has adjusted the soap’s schedule, leaving many viewers curious about why new episodes aren’t on the air.
Looking Back at Previous Breaks
This isn’t the first time Beyond the Gates has stepped aside for special programming. Earlier this summer, CBS paused original broadcasts over the July 4 holiday, filling the slot with reruns of Bill and Hayley’s wedding drama. Even before that, the network aired repeats between June 30 and July 4, giving fans a chance to revisit big storylines during the holiday stretch.
Now, September brings another short pause, and the network has carefully chosen a rerun arc that ties directly into one of the soap’s most explosive storylines from earlier in the year.
Why Beyond the Gates Is Off-Air This Week
From September 1 to 5, 2025, CBS will not air new episodes of Beyond the Gates in honor of U.S. Labor Day. Instead, the network will run reruns throughout the week. The episodes airing are from Nicole and Ted’s anniversary arc, which originally played out in May 2025 but was interrupted at the time by live UEFA Champions League coverage.
Viewers will see Episodes 45 through 49 in sequence, giving a chance to watch the story unfold without interruptions. That arc revealed Ted’s relationship with Leslie, which devastated Nicole and created turmoil in the Dupree family. At the same time, Leslie revealed herself to be Barbara’s daughter, and inherited a share of the Dupree wealth. Meanwhile, Allison held Chelsea hostage and forced her into a mock wedding.
When New Episodes Will Return?
Beyond the Gates will be back with original episodes on Monday, September 8, picking up directly with Chelsea’s rescue storyline. Spoilers hint that Kat and Jacob’s attempt to save her could be derailed by a truck accident. While, Allison takes her threats to the next level by wielding a knife.
Elsewhere, Vanessa, Doug, and Joey will face an embarrassing encounter that promises to add a more to the intense drama. The soap, created by Michele Val Jean, continues to grow in reach. CBS renewed it for a second season earlier this year. And starting September 1, Canadian fans can watch the series on Crave.
While the week of reruns may feel like a slowdown, it gives you a chance to revisit the Nicole-Ted-Leslie fallout. When the show returns on September 8, fans can expect action and twists. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Beyond the Gates updates, spoilers, and soap news.
