Royal news is making rounds after William and Kate took a stand against a French magazine. The couple had had enough of their private life being exposed. Pictures from their family trip in the Alps went too far this time. They wanted peace, not headlines. So what did the court finally say? Keep scrolling to learn more.

A Rare Step From The Wales Couple

The Prince and Princess of Wales have won their legal battle in France. It was against Paris Match, and it’s a popular French magazine. They had published photos of the royal family without their permission. During that time, William, Kate and their children were enjoying a holiday in the Alps back in April.

The couple said that their pictures were taken secretly. And that their privacy was invaded. Rather‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ than just ignoring the issue, they took the matter to court. Kate and William have been pretty consistent in their efforts to keep their public and private lives separate. And now, they have chosen to demonstrate that their family time is definitely not something to be shared with the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌public.

Even a French court agreed with their stance. And so it ordered the magazine to publish a notice and admit it had breached the family’s privacy. The publication also had to pay for the couple’s legal costs. Elsewhere, if the courts’ orders are not followed, they would have to pay a penalty. And this was for all the media houses that click unauthorised photographs of the royals. The couple, though, refused to take the compensation. They only wanted them to admit their mistake publicly.

Royal News: Protecting Family Over Public Image

Kensington Palace later released a statement about the verdict. It said that despite their public duties, the family deserves privacy. William and Kate have received extreme media attention. From their wedding coverage to royal tours, everything has been open. However, for their children, they have drawn a strict line.  When it comes to their children, they have always limited their public appearances. They did not want them to be surrounded by the constant flash of cameras.

Even before this case, the couple had challenged the media. Back in 2017, they had won a case against a French publication. It had released topless photographs of Kate taken during a private holiday. Now other publishers will be careful to post anything about the royals. The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ couple’s message is clear: if necessary, they will protect their family, even if that means confronting the press in a court of ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌law.
