The existence of some EastEnders characters remains in question, as they haven’t been seen in a while. Recently, fans discussed which off-screen characters should be killed off.
Well, we can say that the majority of the audience wants the writers to either introduce extended family or guarantee that they never return. Meanwhile, scroll down to check out which character topped the list.
Fans Debate Off-Screen EastEnders Deaths
The BBC soap opera audience talked about which off-screen characters the writers should kill off. Actually, many fans went for Michelle Fowler. To them, it quite simply does not make sense that she never comes back for family weddings funerals etc.
As we know, in her final exit plot, she was framed by a teenage Hunter Owen. Hunter was in a romantic relationship with Louise Mitchell. However, he wanted to hide the liaison from his mum, so he lied, claiming that Michelle was ‘inappropriate’ with him. Even Sharon Watts doubted her but soon realised the truth.
But the damage was severe, and Michelle was tired of having her name constantly blackened. Hence, she left Walford for good. Elsewhere, others suggested confirming Mick’s death to give Linda closure.
Others called for Shirley to be written out permanently. However, few argued her death wouldn’t impact enough current characters. Also, fans pointed out that older characters like Nellie Ellis and Blossom Jackson are in limbo years after their actors passed away.
What Fans Are Saying On Reddit
A user said, “Mick. Linda deserves closure and realistically, if he were alive, there’s no way he’d abandon Ollie for this long. His death could bring back Shirley, Carly, Lee, Nancy and Frankie for a cameo and a surprise Janine return with Mick’s son.
Another shared, “Maybe Kyle? I don’t really remember much about his character, but I thought it was a shame we never got to see Stacey’s other sisters, whom she had. We could’ve had a Slater Sisters 2.0 if done right.
Elsewhere, a third wrote, “Michelle without a doubt. And really should have been when she first left or instead of Martin. The recast that had to be done was a flop, so the character should be written off and killed off for good.”
“Hayley Slater: She will never come back and I don’t think she should be recast. It would open up storylines for Kat & Alfie, and it also could mean the return of Bev Slater and a possible custody battle. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates keep following Soap Opera Daily.
