Let’s be honest here for a second, Days of Our lives has been embroiled in a lot of drama off-the-screen. May it be about the allegations against Albert Alarr, or, the hard hitting news of Arianne Zucker’s exit. And of course her lawsuit!
Thus, when soap vet, Thaao Penghlis, announced in an interview that he has decided to leave Days of Our Lives for good, it stunned the entire fanbase of the soap. So much is already changing on DOOL that fans are finding it hard to stomach the fact that they won’t get to see the iconic Tony and Andre DiMera anymore on the screen.

Interestingly, even Thaao Penghlis charted his decision to the “changes” that are taking place on the long-running soap. An excerpt of the interview read “When people start taking you for granted, you change.” Thus, pointing that the Days of Our Lives actor has been unhappy by the way things have been going on the show.
However, as soon as news spread through the fanbase, social media caught fire with fans voicing out their opinions and even expressing their heartbreak over the fact that he is leaving. Some even lashed out at the soap for not treating the vets and the storylines properly.

Even Thaao had pointed that “It feels like it’s coming from somewhere else, maybe with a different writer.” Yet, when the actor noticed the backlash the soap started receiving, he tried to clarify that he did not mean his statement in a negative sense. He even said that “Nothing is final. There was more of a positive nature to the article.”
