EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy, who portrays nurse Sonia Fowler, is embarking on a new journey as she takes a break from the longest-running soap. The actress will be leaving Walford to take on a new gig after being poached by a rival channel. It seems like Cassidy will soon be ditching Sonia of the BBC soap and turning consumer expert for the new lifestyle programme on Channel 4, titled What’s The Big Deal. Read on to know more about it.
The popular actress on the BBC One soap has landed a brand new role that is worlds away from her character on the soap. She will team up with Channel 4 to front a brand new show which is about trending products.
As per reports, Natalie has signed up for a four-part series where she will be looking into famous household things that have won over homes around the nation. The channel has previously focused on air fryers where they investigated the gadget’s huge popularity.
While discussing her new gig, a source told The Sun, “Natalie will be taking a short break, just like many of her co-stars do when they have another project. Bosses always try to let stars spread their wings, and if they can make it work with the often punishing soap schedule, then they’ll do it. Natalie’s really excited to tackle the project for Channel 4. This is another string to her bow.”

As per reports, The Channel 4 show will feature items like teeth whiteners and ice baths on the show and the EastEnders star will have a discussion with industry experts and scientists to get insight on them. Furthermore, Natalie will also check in with households who will try and test these products before giving their verdict.
At the end of each episode, the testers and Cassidy will reveal if they would choose to spend their hard-earned money on the products.
