In the upcoming episodes, Jacob will soon start his placement at the hospital. But at the A&E department, he will soon lose calm and feel overwhelmed amidst the chaos. After facing a series of tough situations on his first day – he eventually starts to question his abilities.
Jacob Faces An Accident Up Close
At the A&E department, Jacob will come across situations very close to his home that might take a toll on him. During his shift, he sees Marlon and Rhona coming in following a stabbed victim’s arrival who may have a connection with April. Eventually, it breaks Jacob’s heart when he sees the nurse delivering the devastating news. Next up, Charity comes in with Sarah, who is in a drunken state, and Jacob jumps into action to help her but soon gets involved in another emergency.
All these ultimately leave Jacob exhausted, and as he drives home, he almost comes across an accident. As Jacob drives through the Dales, he narrowly escapes, hitting Manpreet with his car. Though Jacob instantly apologizes for the mistake, Manpreet seems more worried about his signs of exhaustion. Given that she is also from a medical background, will Manpreet be able to help Jacob?
Sophie’s Plan for Jacob’s Storyline
Sophie Roper has recently talked about her plans regarding Jacob’s storyline and shared that it’s not a new idea. According to her, since Jacob’s interest in medicine was shown in the soap, it was the plan to explore this storyline. She further added context to Jacob’s special episode, saying they wanted to show a day in Jacob’s life that would challenge him both professionally and personally.
