EastEnders Brings Julie Bates Back In Walford
EastEnders confirm the explosive return of Julie Bates as the character’s voice is heard for the first time after almost twenty years. The character, portrayed by the talented Karen Henthorn reprised her role as he left a voicemail on her husband Nigel Bates’ phone. Regular viewers know that Nigel made a return to Walford in December. He then reunited with his old friend Phil Mitchell.
Even though fans are thrilled to see Paul Bradley back in action as Nigel. But we cannot but wonder the real reason behind his sudden appearance. While discussing the same with his friend Phil, Nigel told him that his wife kicked him but that is not true. We all have witnessed Julie leaving his text messages while being concerned about his whereabouts. She also begged him to come back home.
In tonight’s episode, Nigel will receive a voicemail from Julie, who is requesting him to call her back. We can also hear Julie asking him about his whereabouts with all her love and sincerity. Long-time viewers know that Karen played Julie between 1997 and 1998. And this cameo is her first ever appearance in the last 27 years.

We know Julie and Nigel met through his daughter, Clare Bates, a student of Julie’s. The duo instantly hit it off and got married. They moved to Scotland and started a new life.
