EastEnders icon Charlie Brooks has opened up about her potential return to the soap to celebrate its 40th Anniversary in February. The actress who portrayed the role of the chaotic queen, Janine Butcher, has addressed whether she’ll make a bombshell comeback to the BBC program. Janine Is Coming Back On EastEnders?
Charlie Brooks made her debut on EastEnders as killer Janine in 1999 before leaving in 2004. The iconic actress has had multiple small stints on the show ever since. Long-time viewers know that we last saw Janine at the end of 2022 as part of a dramatic storyline that led to Danny Dyer’s exit as Mick Carter. As the show approaches its 40th milestone, we have been wondering who all could make an appearance again.
The actress recently spoke to The Mirror about her return to Albert Square. “I’m going straight back into Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for a while, and then I probably need a little bit of time off,” she said. Brooks’ fans know that the actress made her debut as Childcatcher in the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang last year. She also didn’t rule out the possibility of returning to BBC soap and mentioned, “I’m biding my time. So who knows.”
According to sources, Ross Kemp will reprise his role as Grant Mitchell as a part of the celebrations. So, it will definitely be exciting to see Janine back, too! As for current career path, Charlie is all set to make Dancing on Ice debut, which she admitted she’s “very nervous” about. She also teased details about her first routine. And added, “It’s a fast, really fun song, and we’re straight out of the gate with high energy.

It looks like the legendary actress is really looking forward to this new experience. Brooks also mentioned, “There’s every chance I could fall over.
