Exciting Coronation Street and EastEnders Additions To ITV’s Series Two 

ITV‘s crime drama After The Flood has been recommissioned for its second series, and we will see Coronation Street and EastEnders actors in it. When it launched this time last year, the program was a major hit with the audience for its suspenseful script and strong star in Sophie Rundle as police officer Joanna Marshall. The drama will now add new cast members by recruiting notable British soap actresses.

Coronation Street: Soap Stars Join the Cast for the New Season

Included among the fresh faces are EastEnders and Coronation Street legends Jill Halfpenny and Ian Puleston-Davies. They both lend a wealth of experience and a well-known screen presence to the eagerly awaited second season. 49-year-old Jill Halfpenny is familiar to ITV audiences. She was Rebecca Hopkins in Coronation Street and went on to play Kate Mitchell in EastEnders. She will appear as DS Sam Bradley, a detective investigating a murder case, in After The Flood.

Ian Puleston-Davies, 66, is most known for playing Owen Armstrong in Coronation Street for five years. He now takes on the role of Tony Rower in After The Flood as a major player in the new season. Some other big names to appear on the show include Alun Armstrong (New Tricks), Matthew McNulty (The Rising), and Tony Marshall (Casualty).

They will act alongside returning favorites Sophie Rundle, Nicholas Gleaves, Lorraine Ashbourne, Philip Glenister, and Matt Stokoe. The new series begins with Jo Marshall, a newly promoted detective. She remains involved in a mysterious murder investigation in Waterside. With the potential for moorland fires and the threat of more flooding, tensions are growing in the town.

Later, a body surfaces under suspicious conditions, and Jo is in a race against time to find a vicious killer. As she delves deeper, Jo becomes caught up in corruption within the police ranks.
